FUNERALS

Church services, such as funerals and memorial services, can offer necessary support and comfort when a loved one’s life has come to an end. It is an opportunity to express grief and give thanks for the life, as well as commend that person to God.

Everyone is entitled to either a burial service (funeral) or to have their ashes buried in their local parish churchyard by their local parish priest regardless of whether they attended church or not.

We also offer funeral services either before or after cremation or burial and we work closely with all the local funeral directors to make sure that the grieving are cared for in the lead up to and during the funeral. We also have a special memorial service for All Souls Day (on or around 2 November) in which those we love, but see no more are remembered.

Contact us for more information, or visit the Church of England website to find out more.
