God in Uncertain Times - Thought Uncertainty
Will restrictions be lifted on June 21st? Will my wedding still be able to go ahead as planned? Will my holiday destination remain green or will it change to amber? Questions without answers. There is so much uncertainty at the moment that it is difficult to know whether to make plans or not.
There are times for all of us when we aren't sure of what's coming next. From jobs that depend on the outcome of exam results; uncertainty about health when waiting for test results. To whether there will be a third spike in the Coronavirus infections.
There are so many situations in life which we can’t control, which can make us anxious.
So what can we do in these moments, when circumstances seem fickle and unsteady?
It can help to remind ourselves about the nature of God and His plans for us.
If we turn to the Bible we can read there that God is consistent in his support of us, even in the midst of disorder and confusion. Sometimes, it might be the only thing that gets you through, but the experience of those who have trusted Him witnesses to the fact He will always get you through.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
